The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered a CBI inquiry into the registration of an FIR against Kulbir Singh, sarpanch of Longiwind village at Dharamkot sub-division, on the charges of adulterating milk.The police had recovered 24,000 litres of spurious milk filled in two tankers in March, 2014. The police had also seized 10 kg dalda ghee, 15 kg salt, 50 kg powder and 20 kg sugar, besides 7 litres of acid. The material was allegedly being used to make spurious milk.Kulbir Singh, who is close to Congress leader Kaka Sukhjit Singh Lohgarh, had alleged political vendetta. He filed a petition in the HC alleging that the FIR was registered against him at the behest of Agriculture Minister Tota Singh.He alleged the trucks belonged to a milk-processing unit based at Nihalsinghwala, but the police did not name its owners in the FIR and also not summoned them for investigations.
