Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. It’s a time millions of people come together to shine light on the disease. Now one local organization is raising awareness in a fun way.

Staff members at Country Meadows Place in Mason City hosted a carnival to bring awareness to Alzheimer’s disease.

Residents at the facility and millions more around the world suffer from the devastating disease with no cure.

Alissa Rakoto, Health Care Coordinator says this event is a great way to make people more aware and learn ways that they can do to help those affected.

“All of the staff has really worked really hard together and helped collect the donations and help man everything today and when we were asking for donations it was just amazing at how many people assisted as we said it was for Alzheimer’s association jumped at the cause, says Rakoto.

All proceeds will be given to the Alzheimer’s disease association.
