The Calgary Police Rodeo Association has been supporting MCSC for the last 12 years and officials presented a big cheque to the organization to support two key components of the search program; CodeSearch and The Most Valuable Network.
“We’re thrilled to be able to support this worthwhile cause,” said CPS Homicide Detective Mike Cavilla, President of the Calgary Police Rodeo Association. “Getting information out to a wide network of people via mobile devices and social media as quickly as possible through “CodeSearch”™ and “The Most Valuable Network” astronomically increases the chances of finding a missing child alive and well.”
“We are an organization that depends heavily, and I would say almost exclusively quite frankly, on individual, corporation and community support to keep our doors open and so for 12 years we have been the recipients of the Calgary Police Association Rodeo funds that they raise,” said Amanda Pick, Chief Executive Officer, Missing Children Society of Canada. “It literally helps us operate our programs.”
The Calgary Police Rodeo has been around for 34 years and this year the event will be held at the Cochrane Rodeo Grounds.
“We’re looking forward to it. Last year was the rainiest year we’ve had on record in 34 years and so we’re looking for sunshine and some great rodeo action,” said Detective Cavilla.
The Rodeo has donated more than $90,000 over the last decade to the Missing Children Society of Canada and the event gets underway on Saturday, August 13th at 1:00 p.m. Click HERE for more details.
