Bombs found at home after house fire in Welland

Niagara regional police say a fire at a home in Welland on Sunday is under investigation after several improvised explosive devices were found inside.

A 41-year-old man fell from the second-floor window at 79 Park Street and was taken to hospital in Hamilton. Niagara police say Welland fire fighters found the man in the front yard. He is in critical condition.

Police say the neighbourhood was evacuated until 11 pm Sunday night. A police explosives disposal unit was brought in after the explosive devices were found. The scene remains under police guard. Police say the fire did about $200,000 in damage.
