A man’s body was discovered in a grassy area off Columbia Street in Kamloops, Wednesday. About 4:15 p.m., a witness alerted police to the body, near the 1300 block of Columbia. The discovery was made while the person was walking in the area.

Kamloops RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit and the B.C. Coroners Service responded to the scene.

So far, the discovery of the body is not believed to be criminal in nature. However, the investigation is ongoing, Sgt. Darren Michels said in a press release.
