Police said the ASI had last spoken to his wife, but what they spoke about is not yet known.
Omprakash Paswan (50), a resident of Narayan Colony, reported for duty around 10.30 am. He then went to the wireless room and shot himself with his service revolver. He was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
A colleague of Paswan said: “He had just spoken to his wife. We do not know if they had a heated discussion over some family matter.” Bhojpur SP Chhatranil Singh said: “We will get to know if there was an immediate provocation once we talk to his family”.
