Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann today again appeared before the panel set up to look into his act of filming the Parliament complex. He stuck to his version, following which the panel asked him to appear on August 3.Not satisfied by his response and also on count of glaring contradictions in his oral submission, sources said the MP has been asked to come again on August 3.“He says that he tenders an unconditional apology and at the same time he says he did not do anything wrong. He also questions the need of the constitution of the panel to look into his act,” said one of the members of the panel. As the members of the panel had “objections” and reservations on his attempt to link his action with that of the PM and the ISI, one of the members said, “We had asked him to make up his mind. But today too he has not changed his position on this issue.”Meanwhile, sources said since the matter is vexed and as the terms of reference go beyond the MP’s act and to suggest measures that such incidents do not occur in future, the chairman has been asked to seek extension beyond August 3, the date given to the panel to submit its report.A member said, “There was also a suggestion to separate the two mandates – scrutinizing Mann’s act and suggestion for avoiding such acts in future. We can conclude and submit a report within the time given. But for the lager issue of ensuring no such incident takes place in future we will require greater application of mind and for this extension could be sought from the Speaker.”
