Last night’s C.F.D.A. Awards brought out fashion’s biggest luminaries. Some were there just to attend the awards dressed in duds by well-known designers. Others were recipients of awards. And then, there was Beyoncé. She was both: an award recipient dressed in an unforgettable Givenchy suit designed by the brand’s creative director Riccardo Tisci. Bey picked up the Fashion Icon Award, yet it was her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, whose appearance stole the show.

Beyoncé, Jay Z, and Blue Ivy turned the C.F.D.A.’s into a family outing. They tend to do that when Bey gets an award. Remember the time she received the Vanguard Award at the 2014 V.M.A.’s? Jay Z and Blue Ivy personally presented the third member of their family with the Moon Man. Beyoncé’s C.F.D.A. award was kept a secret until last night, and then announced by the organization’s president Diane von Furstenberg—so the situation was slightly different than the V.M.A.’s. Still, she had her family there to celebrate the occasion, and Blue Ivy took full advantage of the phalanx of cameras and fans waiting to usher her into the ceremony.
