Bella Hadid (born October 9, 1996) is an American fashion model, signed to IMG Models in 2014. She was born in California in 1996 to Yolanda Hadid and Mohamed Hadid. In 2016, she won the Daily Front Row’s “Model of the Year” Award.
Bella Hadid was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of television personality and former 80’s model Yolanda Hadid (née Van den Herik) and multi-millionaire real-estate developer Mohamed Hadid.
Hadid has one older sister, model Gigi Hadid, and a younger brother, Anwar Hadid. She has two older half-sisters, Marielle and Alana, on her father’s side and five ex-stepsisters from her former stepfather, David Foster. Following her parents’ divorce, her mother married music producer David Foster, who are now divorced. She is of Palestinian and Dutch descent.
Hadid was a nationally ranked equestrian player as a teenager and had dreams to attend the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro but was unable to train and compete due to her suffering Lyme disease.She and her mother and brother, Anwar, were all diagnosed in 2012.
In July 2014, Hadid was arrested and charged with a DUI. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year and she was given six months of probation.Hadid was also ordered to perform 25 hours of community service and attend 20 hours of AA meetings.
In Fall of 2014, Bella began studying photography at the Parsons School of Design, but has since dropped out due to the success of her modeling career. She has expressed interest in wanting to go back to school and take on Fashion Photography as a career once she is done modeling.
Hadid began dating Canadian singer The Weeknd in April 2015.Hadid starred in his Music Video In the Night in December 2015.
It was revealed in late 2015 that Hadid had Lyme disease and that her mother and younger brother are also battling it. They were all diagnosed with it in 2012.
