In Bathinda, Congress puts up united face

Punjab Congress leaders today put up a united front at the party’s second Kisan Chetna dharna here today.
Capt Amarinder Singh and Partap Singh Bajwa, who were locked in a bitter fight over the control of the PPCC a few months ago, not only shared the stage, but also showed bonhomie.
Addressing the gathering, Amarinder declared that he would contest against AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal from any constituency of the latter’s choice in the upcoming state Assembly elections.
“The main agenda of AAP is to loot Punjab. You have seen how they have allegedly collected crores of rupees on false promises of allocation of party ticket to gullible aspirants. Now even more serious charges of sexual abuse have surfaced against AAP leaders. Will you vote for such a party?” Amarinder questioned.
Chairperson of the party’s campaign committee Ambika Soni claimed that the SAD-BJP alliance was on its way out and people should be wary of AAP.
Punjab Congress in-charge Asha Kumari said only the Congress could watch the interests of all sections of society. “The SAD-BJP alliance has only patronised the transport, sand and drug mafia,” she said.
