Having been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate six times in connection with the Bhola drug racket, Akali Chief Parliamentary Secretary Avinash Chander today said just two to four questions posed by the Central investigating agency remained to be answered by him. He was preparing replies to those questions, he said.Phillaur legislator Avinash was talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a shagun distribution function at Ambedkar Bhawan. He said his CAs were preparing a file of documents pertaining to his businesses and properties. This would take some time. The Akali MLA got somewhat pensive on being reminded that former minister and Kartarpur MLA Sarwan Singh Phillaur’s son Damanvir Phillaur had demanded his resignation. “He is no one to seek my resignation. I keep meeting his father, who is my colleague, but he has never talked on the issue. The post of CPS was given to me by the Punjab CM. Till the time he asks me to resign, I will continue on the post. If Damanvir has any problem as regards his father being asked to step down, he should seek clarity on it from his father,” he said. The Chief Parliamentary Secretary claimed that he was cooperating with the Enforcement Directorate, replying to all their queries and not shying away from any investigation. When asked why his Santosh Kler has not yet appeared before the ED despite being summoned twice, he said, “We have submitted all documents on her part. If the ED wants her to appear, she can go as well.”
