And while their designs are certainly not for the faint-hearted fashion fan, Romance Was Born can always be counted on to deliver a spectacularly colourful and textured collection.
Day four of Fashion Week kicked off at the spectacular Carthona House in Darling Point, Sydney, where the sandstone facade of the waterfront building was bedecked with tumbling vines and red roses.
The designer duo, Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett, named Liberace among their muses for their 10th anniversary collection, called ‘Whispering Angel’.
Exquisitely loud and intricate prints were paired with ruffles, velvet, fringed, and feathered fabrics.
With the beauty theme ‘Liberace Angels’, models had their hair in tight curls, with red painted cupids bow lips, bejewelled teardrops, and pastel eye shadow or bold glitter brows by make up artist Linda Jefferyes for Sephora.
Standout designs included the black and white Joker style dress with an oversized ruffle.
