Android 7.0 Nougat could be heading to your Nexus early next week

We had a couple of misunderstood leaks in the past, but enough is enough as Android fans are indeed eager
to get the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update. So how does 22 August sound? Well, that is the date slipped out
of Canadian carrier Telus and guess what? It’s just 4 days away!

The news was first reported by 9to5Google who attained the Software Update Schedule from the official Telus
Forums. The same schedule gave away the exact software roll out dates for Google’s current Nexus
smartphone line up, the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P. It was the same schedule that was used to accurately
point out the date of the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow security update that rolled out earlier this month.

As of now, we just have the Google Nexus duo, Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia X Performance, Huawei P9 and LG
G5 with Android 7.0 previews out. So there is a chance that Huawei, Sony and LG owners may see updates
showing up on their smartphones sooner than usual.

Nexus smartphone users have more reasons to be happy as they will be the first ones to receive the much-
awaited Android update. The rest of the Android community (flagship or not) can now start counting the days
(or months) till the same arrives via their manufacturer OTA rollouts.

Android 7.0 Nougat is expected to bring in new notifications, a cleaner design, Project Svelte, Split-screen
multitasking, customisable Quick Setting and much more.
