Actor Akshay Kumar was detained at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday allegedly for not having a valid visa. Mr Kumar reportedly spent over an hour in the holding area of the airport.
The 48-year-old actor was in London to film his next project Rustom and was allegedly found to be travelling without a visa.
Mumbai Mirror reports that Mr Kumar, believed to be a Canadian citizen, was allowed to be in the UK without a visa as a tourist but needed one because he was in the country on work.
Mumbai Mirror also reports that Akshay Kumar’s presence in the holding area of Heathrow caused comment with fans crowding to take pictures. The actor reportedly asked to be moved to a more private area of the airport.
Akshay Kumar was last seen in Airlift and is currently working on two other films apart from Rustom – Housefull 3 and 2.0 .
