Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) activists today staged a protest in Gidderbaha town alleging that some youngsters, including a SAD activist, last evening thrashed their workers and snatched from them the posters of a voter survey that they were pasting in the town.Kultar Singh, AAP spokesperson, said, “Our activists had gone to the police station yesterday, but the police did not lodge an FIR on their statement. So, we today lodged a protest outside the Gidderbaha police station demanding action against those who thrashed our workers.”“The police have assured us that they would initiate action against the accused. If they don’t act today, we will intensify our agitation tomorrow. One of the culprits has been identified as Lakha Singh, a SAD activist who is usually seen roaming with a former municipal councillor,” he alleged.Notably, the posters in question claimed 100 seats for the AAP in the Assembly elections in the state.Darshan Singh, investigation officer, said, “We have received the complaint against Lakha Singh and two unidentified persons. We are investigating the matter.”
