The Aam Aadmi Party today demanded an inquiry by the committee appointed by the High Court into the multi-crore Scheduled Castes (SC) students fund scam in Punjab.
AAP Punjab convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich said private colleges in the state gulped more than Rs 100 crore by showing 30,000 fake admissions for the 2014-15 session.
The money was meant to be used for SC students. Waraich alleged the scam showed that the authorities were hand in glove with those who embezzled the funds.
Waraich said the Congress kept quiet on the issue. He alleged that the Congress leaders had their stakes in the private education business.
