The case has been registered at Jhajjar police station on the complaint of BJP leader Karan Singh Tanwar, a former MLA of Chanakya Puri and former vice-president of New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC). Jhajjar police spokesman said inspector Chandervir Singh was conducting the probe. Tanwar had moved a complaint before Jhajjar SP on Friday where he sought registration of a case against Commando alleging that the MLA got the job on the basis of a forged BA degree, alleged to have been procured from EIILM University, Sikkim.
“Surinder worked in the Indian Army from July 5, 1997, to October 2011, after which he had sought voluntary retirement. Documents related to his service record, procured under RTI Act, state that he had passed Class XII, whereas he claimed to be a graduate while applying for the post of physical training instructor in government senior secondary school of Jhajjar,” alleged Tanwar.
“According to his application with the state education department, Surinder claimed to have passed graduation as a regular student between 2009 and 2011. How can one do so while in Army service,” Tanwar said. “He managed to get employment on fabricated documents and drew a salary and remuneration between October 2012 and October 2013. Needless to mention that Surinder neither attended regular classes for a degree course and nor appeared in any examinations for the same,” said Tanwar.
Surinder, who took VRS from the Grenadiers, was a commando who participated in the Kargil War of 1999, and Mumbai attack in November 2008, as part of elite National Security Guard (NSG), his page on social media reads. Last year, he was arrested for assaulting an NDMC employee.
