Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann said here today that his party would not allow the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal to be built.“Punjab does not have water to spare for Haryana. We are ready to sacrifice everything. Our blood, not water, will flow in this canal,” Mann said during a visit to Sarawan Bodla village in CM Parkash Singh Badal’s constituency Lambi.Badal had recently dared AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to clear his stand on the SYL issue.On the Congress’ proposed move to pit Manpreet Badal against the CM, Mann said, “Let these two parties field any candidate from Lambi, we will win.”Mann also paid a visit to Budhlada, Sardulgarh and Bathinda Assembly segments.
No law and order: Khaira
Samrala: AAP leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira said here on Saturday that law and order had crumbled in the state as murders were taking place in broad daylight. Talking to mediapersons at the party office, he said Mata Chand Kaur’s murder had put a question mark on the security of residents.Earlier, he visited the Bhaini Sahib dera and expressed condolences with Satguru Uday Singh and other dera leaders.He accused the Shiromani Akali Dal and the Congress of needlessly targeting AAP on the SYL issue.
Clarify stand on SYL, Harsimrat tells Kejri
Chandigarh: Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Saturday asked AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to specify whether his government would file an affidavit in favour of Punjab on the SYL issue in the Supreme Court or not. She said a categorical response was needed from Kejriwal to clarify the contradictory statements and stands being taken by AAP on an issue that concerned farmers’ future.
