A 64-YEAR-old man died when his vehicle went off a cliff northwest of Brisbane this morning. Police said the man was travelling on Mt Nebo Rd when he left the roadway and crashed down an embankment about 7.45am.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mt Nebo Rd was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
Elsewhere in Queensland, two people had died and a third was fighting for her life after two road crashes.
A 59-year-old woman died after the car she was travelling in collided with a truck on the Bruce Highway at Tiaro, north of Brisbane, yesterday afternoon.
The driver of the car, a 56-year-old woman, was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the truck was not injured and police are investigating the cause of the incident.
Meanwhile, a man has died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a ute in central Queensland.
The 25-year-old died at the scene of the crash in Benaraby last night, police said.
