The Dirba police today booked six residents of Janal village, identified as Raman Singh, Randhir Singh, Bhan Singh, Raghbir Singh, Manpreet Singh and Satpal Singh, for attacking a police party near the village.Gurdev Singh, investigating officer from Dirba police station, said head constable Darshan Singh and Punjab Home Guard jawan Sharma Ram were on their way to probe a case at Dhandholi village when they saw some people quarrelling at the Janal village bus stand. Both tried to intervene, but came under attack.They entered a pesticide shop to save themselves.The assailants followed them and attacked the shop with bricks and lathis before fleeing from the spot. They were booked under Sections 353, 186, 427, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code.
