Six officials of a private finance company were booked by the local police for cheating and issuing death threats to a borrower after the latter’s wife approached the Deputy Commissioner today.Ramandeep Kaur, in her complaint to the DC, alleged that she and her husband Didar Singh were getting death threats from the officials of Star Finance Company, from whom he had borrowed money in 2013.She said the company had forced her husband to sign stamp papers, blank papers and cheques while giving the loan. She alleged that the officials had also abducted him but later released him.On the DC’s directions, the police booked Balwinder Singh, Rajvir Singh, Gurminder Singh, Sant Singh, Nirmal Singh and Hardeep Singh under sections 406, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120B of the IPC.
