A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 43-year-old woman in Glasgow Nasreem Buksh was pronounced dead after police were called to a flat in Dixon Avenue, Govanhill, at around 7am on Saturday.
Nasreem is thought to have died from a serious head injury.
Police Scotland confirmed a 54-year-old man had been arrested and is detained in custody in connection with the incident.
Locals had expressed shock at the news.
One neighbour, who didn’t want to be named, said: “People have been shocked at what’s happened.
“They are a family with children but they didn’t go to the local mosque so I didn’t really know them
“I’ve never heard of anything like this happening here.”
Yesterday, a spokeswoman said officers were called to an “incident” in the flat.
She added: “A post-mortem examination will take place to establish the exact cause of death, meantime the death is being treated as suspicious and officers are following a definite line of inquiry.”
