The police today claimed to have arrested a five-member gang of robbers with arms and ammunition from near AP Enclave in Dhuri. On a tip-off, a police team, led by Inspector Rajesh Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO), Dhuri, raided the site and nabbed five robbers from there.Sat Pal Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Dhuri, said today the police had got information that five youths, having arms and ammunition, had been planning to commit a dacoity in the area. The police raided the site and nabbed them along with weapons, gold ornaments and some money, he added.The DSP said the robbers had been identified as Sahil (gang leader), Akshey Dravid, Kulbir Singh, Gagandeep Singh and Vijay Kumar. He said the police recovered from their possession a .315-bore pistol with two cartridges, a sword, an iron rod, three tolas of gold ornaments and Rs 16,000. A case under Sections 399, 402 of the IPC and Section 25 of Arms Act has been registered.
