A Bronx man shot and killed his 45-year-old wife Thursday night — and made up a story blaming three fictional purse-snatchers for her death, cops said.

The unidentified 33-year-old man initially told cops he and his wife, Araceles Colon, had gotten of the 4 train at Jerome Ave. in The Bronx shortly after 9 p.m. when three thieves tried to grab Colon’s pocketbook as they walked into Macombs Dam Park across from Yankee Stadium.

The man claimed a scuffle ensued, and that his wife was subsequently shot in the stomach by one of the muggers.

But police debunked his claims, saying they were shown to be false after a preliminary investigation.

Paramedics rushed Colon to Lincoln Hospital, where she died, cops said. A motive for the fatal shooting was not immediately known.
