South Simcoe Police have charged four men after a tractor trailer was stolen in Bradford Sunday. According to police, the tractor trailer was stolen just before 6 p.m. Sunday on Reagen’s Industrial Parkway. The owners of the truck had tracked its location using GPS.

Responding officers spotted the truck driving south on 10 Sideroad. As the officers attempted to pull the tractor trailer over, police say a van behind the truck impeded their progress.

Police were able to stop both the truck and van and arrested the driver of the van. By the time officers got to the stolen big rig, the driver had fled on foot.

The York Regional Police Canine Unit helped tracked down and arrest the  suspect.

South Simcoe Police also responded to the original location and found a rented cube van and two suspects who had been detained by the owners of the stolen tractor trailer. Those two men were arrested and police seized a quantity of stolen items the suspects had offloaded from the tractor trailer.

Two Brampton men, A North York man and a Caledon man have been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. The Caledon man was the driver of the van and he faces an additional charge of Obstruct Police.

All four suspects were schedule to appear in bail court Monday.
