The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), along with BSF sleuths, carried out a joint operation in the wee hours today at Bareke village along the Indo-Pak border, around 6 km from the district headquarters.As many as 31 packets (1 kg each) of heroin worth Rs 150 crore, one .9mm pistol, four magazines and 61 rounds of ammunition were seized and two drug peddlers were apprehended.As per sources in DRI, the operation was planned last night following an intelligence input. NK Jain, Additional Director General, DRI, said their team arrived at Bareke village last evening and swooped down on a house at 4 am. A drug peddler, identified as Prakash, was nabbed. He revealed the whereabouts of his accomplice, Angrej Singh, who had brought the consignment. The DRI team then raided the adjoining fields to nab Angrej Singh. He was caught by BSF jawans after a long chase.
