Three men who failed to return from a fishing trip north of Perth have been found safe and well, police say. The men, aged in their 20s, had last been seen on Sunday morning in the town of Jurien Bay, travelling in a ute and towing a dinghy.

Concerns were held for their welfare after they failed to return to Perth.

Police said they were found this morning on Wedge Island, less than a kilometre off the coast and 170 kilometres north of Perth.

Police are yet to determine if they walked to the island at low tide or swam to the island after their aluminium dinghy overturned.

No further details were immediately available.
