Three pedestrians were taken to hospital after a serious collision in Surrey Saturday evening. A vehicle driving south on 138th Street collided with a vehicle driving northbound, as it was turning left onto 72nd Avenue around 6:45 p.m. Saturday.
One of the vehicles struck a group of pedestrians standing on the corner of the intersection. One pedestrian, a woman, was pinned under the vehicle.
First responders arrived quickly and freed the woman.
She was taken to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries and is in critical condition, according to Staff Sgt. Murray Hedderson of Surrey RCMP.

A male pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his head and face, but was reported to be in stable condition. A second woman was taken to hospital, also in stable condition.
The drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene. Police say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
