Family and friends were screaming as they learned a third life was taken after a gun man shot and killed a mother and three of her kids inside a home along SW 115th avenue and 203rd terrace.

“He killed my sister and nephews man,” said Gus Lanier, brother of the shooting victim.

Family members say 39-year old Takeeya Fulton was shot and killed as well as her 19-year-old daughter and 17-year-old son.

The youngest victim is a 12-year-old. The boy managed to survive from his gun shot wounds. He’s now recovering at Kendall regional hospital.

“This is a cowardly act he pursued over kids,” said Lanier.

Family says the 39-year-old woman’s boyfriend is who pulled the trigger. Police are searching for the person responsible.

Tarsenda Bennett, cousin of the shooting victim, says, “The only thing I know is that he shot my cousin Takeeya Fulton and I have another cousin named Kiera and shes dead.”

Neighbors were awoken close to four in the morning after they heard shots and someone running out of the home.

“Well we were hanging out drinking last night and we heard gun shots like normal from those apartments and then we see someone running and I don’t know what happened until this morning and we see something going on,” said Edward E. Gonzalez, neighbor of the shooting victims.

Gonzalez says he has lived in the South Miami Dade neighborhood for 27 years and is shocked to learn about a fatal shooting like this just steps away from his home.

“That never happens, an assassination a family get killed; no, that never happens in the 27 years I’ve been here,” said Gonzalez.
