Hansda was on rotation-wise sentry duty at S S K School to watch over polling booth no 45 under Gosaba (SC) Assembly constituency during fifth phase of polling tomorrow. He was found lying in a pool of blood by three of his colleagues after they heard gunshots at 1.50 AM, Superintendent of police Sunil Chowdhury said. His colleagues were resting in the school building at the time of the incident. Hansda was declared brought dead when he was rushed to Gosaba hospital, police said. The body has been sent to postmortem, they added.
