A 29-year-old man is facing a number of charges after police say he barricaded himself on someone’s back deck in Saskatoon late last night. Police said they were called to the 200 block of Lewis Crescent at about 10:15 p.m. CST in the northwest end of the city.
When they arrived, they found a man on the deck, shouting and brandishing garden shears and a knife.
Police said the man was causing damage to the property and not listening to their commands.
Crisis negotiators were called in to help with the standoff and the man surrendered just after 1 a.m. on Thursday.
He’s facing multiple charges including mischief under $5000, prowl by night and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.
He is also facing two charges of breach of recognizance, two charges of breach of undertaking and three criminal code warrants.
