A 25-year-old homemaker was found murdered with her throat slit in her chawl tenement in Kopri, Thane (E), on Sunday. Initial probe has ruled out theft as the motive as no money was stolen from the house.

Rakhi Sejwal had gone to her mother’s home in the morning and returned around 1pm, in time for the water supply. She was murdered when her husband Rahul, who works as a driver, was away for work and her two sons were still at her mother’s place.
The crime came to light around 1.45pm, when her sons came home and saw her in a pool of blood. “The wound is 6-7cm deep. We have found a knife and sent it for tests,” said SD Korde, senior inspector of Kopri police.
