At 25 people were on Monday killed and 35 others injured when a bomb ripped through a hospital in Quetta in Pakistan’s restive southwestern Balochistan province followed by gunfire.

According to GeoTV, the explosion occurred after Balochistan Bar Association’s President Bilal Kasi was gunned down at Mano Jan Road.

Report said that the explosion took place when the lawyers and journalists had gathered at the emergency department where Bilal Kasi’s body was brought.

The law enforcement agencies and rescue teams immediately rushed to the blast site and shifted the injured to the hospital.

Quoting eyewitnesses, DailyPakistan reported that the blast took place at the entry gate of the accidents section of the hospital and gunshots were also fired after the bomb blast.

The provincial capital has been at the receiving end of several such acts of terror. In May, two persons were killed and five injured when an explosion occurred at the main entrance of Balochistan University.

So far, none of the groups involved in terrorist activities in Balochistan province have claimed responsibility .
