A 21-year-old daredevil has been charged after a video was posting showing a man walking across the top of the Burlington Skyway bridge without a safety harness.

The video, posted Monday, shows a man getting out of a vehicle on Aug. 2, walking up an arch and standing at the 64-metre peak of the bridge.

After planning to catch the sunrise, the climber slowly turns the camera on himself and can be seen wearing sunglasses, a mask over his lower face and another camera strapped to his chest. Cars driving on the Queen Elizabeth Way that early Tuesday morning are seen in the background.

Police responded to a call about a man on the bridge at about 6 a.m., according to Sgt. Kerry Schmidt of Ontario Provincial Police.

Schmidt said 21-year-old Conor Friday has been charged with one count of trespassing, one count of being a pedestrian on a highway and was fined $120.

According to Schmidt, the investigation is ongoing and more charges could be laid.

“It’s unbelievable, it’s dangerous, it’s trespassing, it’s distracting to drivers and absolutely something we don’t want to see,” said Schmidt of the incident.
