Queensland and Victoria police have arrested two fugitives, a day after they were added to a list of the nation’s most wanted criminals. Daryl Dean Wellington and Luke Crieff Stuart Broadhead were arrested today, 24-hours after Crime Stoppers released a list of the country’s 19 top fugitives, which includes rapists, murderers and armed robbers.

About 7am this morning, Swan Hill police intercepted a vehicle at Kerang and took Wellington into police custody. The 29-year-old had been wanted for intentionally and recklessly causing injury to a person at Swan Hill in March.

A few hours later, Queensland police arrested Broadhead at a property in Cairns.

Broadhead, who was detained about 12.45pm, was convicted in 2011 for drug trafficking and drug possession.

After being sentenced to serve jail time and released on parole, the 35-year-old failed to check-in with his parole officer and went on the run. Broadhead is expected to be returned to prison.

Broadhead was arrested by detectives from the Smithfield Criminal Investigation branch at Trinity Beach.

He was found after Crime Stoppers received a tip about his whereabouts.
