Regina police arrested and charged two teenagers following two consecutive car crashes involving the same vehicle on Tuesday night. Police were sent to the first crash around 8:30 p.m. CST. A man – who was known to the driver – was struck by the vehicle at the intersection of Winnipeg Street and 12th Avenue. He was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Soon after, officers were alerted to a second crash at the intersection of Broad Street and 3rd Avenue North.
It was the same vehicle in both crashes and two teenage girls were arrested.
One 18-year-old female faces numerous charges including dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle and failure to stop at the scene of a crash. A second 17-year-old girl faces charges including possession of property obtained by crime and three counts of mischief under $5,000.
The younger girl made her first court appearance today at youth provincial court in Regina.
