According to the postmortem report, Anshita was badly beaten before death and had injuries on her body.Almost two months after freelance scribe Anshita Bawa (24) died under mysterious circumstances, the Dehlon police registered an FIR under section 302 (murder) of the IPC against unidentified persons Sunday.
Earlier, the police had filed inquest proceedings under section 174 of the CrPC, suspecting it to be a case of suicide or accident. The FIR has been registered following an inquiry conducted by ADCP-2 Sandeep Garg. The complainant in the case is Arvind Kaur Bawa, mother of the deceased.On April 22, Anshita had left home around noon to visit a dietician. She, however, never reached the clinic and her car was found abandoned at Bool village near Abohar Branch Canal in the evening. Her body was fished out next day from the canal near Sudhar.
