“Thanks to a number of calls from the public the girls were located safe and sound, and have been returned to their much relieved families,” they said in a statement at 12:15 a.m.
Surrey RCMP are asking for public’s help looking for two young girls who went missing this afternoon. The two girls, who are cousins, are aged 10 and 12. Investigators say they have gone missing in the 16100-block of 83rd Ave in Surrey.
The two girls were last seen at approximately 5 p.m. They were allegedly playing at a residential complex in the area.
The mother of one of the girls went to call them in to eat, and when she could not find them, began to search the complex area and areas that they frequently play in.
When she could not find them, she called the police.
Surrey RCMP attended and searched the area that the children were last seen in, and areas that they are known to play in.
So far, there has been no sign of the girls.
Surrey Search and Rescue has also been called and are deploying to assist in the search for the missing children.
The two girls are described as:
-A Caucasian female, 12 years of age, approximately 4′ 11″ tall, approximately 70 pounds, with a fair complexion, slim build, dark long hair, last seen wearing long-sleeve Burgundy shirt, black tights and answers to the name of Arwyn.
-A Caucasian female, 10 years of age, approximately 4′ 11″, approximately 100 pounds, with a fair complexion, medium to husky build, long light brown hair, possibly wearing glasses, last seen wearing white long mesh sweater with black stars on it, black tights and answers to the name of Hayley. Because police believe the girls have not been abducted, an Amber Alert has not been called.
