Two boys, who had gone missing on Sunday afternoon, were found murdered at two separate places within the remits of the Sohrab Goth and the SITE Superhighway Industrial police stations on Monday, officials said.

The boys stated to be friends were found dead in bushes in Khadim Husain Solangi Goth near Ahsanabad and Allah Rakha Goth near Sohrab Goth.

“One boy aged around 10 years had been bludgeoned to death with some stone after being subjected to criminal assault,” said Malir SSP Rao Anwar. The officer added that another boy aged around 12 years had been strangled with a rope.

The boys had gone missing from outside their homes in Lasi Goth in Sohrab Goth on Sunday at around 3pm and did not return.

The Malir SSP said that their families had not registered missing report at the police stations concerned.

The Sohrab Goth police officer said that the 10-year-old was found dead in the early hours of Monday morning with an injury to his head.

Later on, the body of his 12-year-old friend Shahbaz Mubarak was found in Khadim Husain Goth. Site Superhighway Industrial police SHO Asmatullah Marwat said the boy was strangled.

Doctors at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital said that Shahbaz was not subjected to a criminal assault, added the officer.

Since the both boys had been missing within the remit of the Sohrab Goth police station, the investigation was being carried out by the police there, said Mr Marwat.

The Malir SSP said initial investigation suggested involvement of a ‘tailor master’ of Lasi Goth in the double murder case because he had telephoned to the parents of Shahbaz. Efforts were under way to arrest him, the police added. Rao Anwar believed that it was not a case of kidnapping for ransom.
