In the first case, a three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncle in southeast Delhi’s Govindpuri, after her parents dropped her off at his residence and went to work.
When they returned, they found the child bleeding, said police. The accused, who lived in the same locality, was close to the girl’s family and often visited her residence. “The accused was unemployed. The girl’s parents work as labourers,” said a police official.
The second incident took place in northwest Delhi’s Bharat Nagar, where a 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her brother-in-law. The girl told her mother that the accused had been raping her for months.
Her mother rushed her to the hospital, where doctors confirmed that she had been raped. A case under sections pertaining to rape and POCSO were registered at the Bharat Nagar police station.
