Two men are on the run after a botched home invasion in Sydney’s north-west on Friday night. Police are investigating after the men, who were wearing balaclavas, grabbed a 54-year-old woman at the front door of her home on Lillian Road in Annangrove, just after 8pm.
The woman was arriving at her home when she was met by the two men who forced her inside.
The men then woke the woman’s 73-year-old husband, demanding cash and other property, threatening the couple with a long knife or machete.
One of the men the punched the 73-year-old man in the face. He was later taken to Westmead Hospital for observation.
The offenders fled the property empty handed when a security alarm was activated.
They remain at large and have been described as wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious is advised to contact police.
