Two people are dead following a two-vehicle collision near Wakaw, Sask. RCMP say the crash happened on Highway 41, about two kilometres east of the town.  Police were called to the scene this afternoon at about 4:25 p.m. CST. When officers arrived, they found a truck in the ditch with two people inside. RCMP said both the occupants were dead.

The second vehicle was a freightliner semi tractor pulling a trailer. There is no word on the condition of the driver.

RCMP are still investigating the crash, but said alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

As of 6:45 p.m., RCMP said both lanes on Highway 41 were expected to remain closed for several hours.

Wakaw is about 90 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
