At least three security guards of Malik Ayaz Khan were seriously injured in the IED blast when they were going on a Kacha tract to Ziarat area of Safi tehsil here on Tuesday. According to local administration, Malak Ayaz was on way to Ziarat Masood area from his home with his security guards when they reached the Ziarat road, an IED went off as a result of which security guards Ibrahim Khan, Amjad Khan and Siraj Khan were seriously injured.
The injured were shifted to Headquarters Hospital Nawagai Bajaur agency where two of them Amjad and Siraj succumbed to their injuries.
Miraj Khan Safi tehsildar has confirmed the report and told that all the injured were shifted to Headquarter Hospital Nawagai where two guards expired.
After the incident security forces conducted a search operation in the adjoining areas but no arrest was made.
It will be mentioned here that attacks and IED blasts on security forces and peace committees have increased in the area.
A week ago security forces warned the tribesmen in a grand jirga to ensure law and order situation in their respective areas.
They also warned that all the things would be demolished around the 300 yards from the IED blast area.
Security forces have closed down the Khakh bazaar from the last five days due to which area people are facing problems.
A local resident from the area told that they are compelled to buy daily commodities like meat and ice from Shabqadar bazaar in the holy month of Ramazan.
CTD ARRESTS TERRORIST IN KOHAT: Counter terrorism police during a crackdown arrested a notorious terrorist in Kohat region.
According to CTD the arrested person was identified as Gulab Sher, son of Samandar Khan, resident of Zargari area Kohat.
During the crackdown police also recovered two hand grenades and one 30-bore pistol.
He was wanted by police in various incidents of terrorism in 2009 and 2011.
Meanwhile, to thwart any subversive activities during Ramzan-ul-Mubarik a comprehensive security plan has been chalked out for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Peshawar.
As per police statement, Peshawar has been divided into 58 zones under the security plan.
Special teams comprising three SSPs, four DSPs and 350 constables have been set up to ensure law and order in all parts of the city.
The handout said 10 constables will be deployed at every large mosque and patrolling will also be done during Sehri and Iftar timings.
Security measures have also been enhanced in all other districts of KP with the start of Ramazan.
Strict security measures have been adopted in all the cities to avoid any untoward incident during the Holy month of Ramazan.
One personnel of police will be deployed on every mosque at the time of Taraweeh.
