A 13-year-old girl of Gurursar Jodha village in Lambi Assembly segment was allegedly raped by two youngsters on May 22. The police have booked Mukhpal Singh of the same village and an unidentified person. The victim, daughter of migrant labourers, was allegedly raped at her house. As per the police complaint, the accused served some sedative in a drink to her brother and then committed the crime.


Gang busted; 5 held

With the arrest of five persons, the district police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a gang of criminals against whom cases had already been registered at different police stations in the past. During preliminary investigation, members of the gang told the police that they wanted to kill a sarpanch. Those arrested are Sukhchain Singh, Manwinder Singh, Gurdas Singh, Ranjit Singh and Sukhdev Singh.


FM flags off yatra trainFinance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa on Wednesday flagged off the CM Tirath Darshan Yatra special train from the Lehragaga railway station for Shri Hazur Sahib, Nanded. About 1,000 pilgrims from the Lehragaga constituency boarded the train. Dhindsa said besides free-of-cost ticket, the state government also provided free food facilities and medical services to the pilgrims in the train.
