More than 100 people were injured in Shopian’s Pinjoora village when police and paramilitary forces used tear smoke shells and pellets on the protestors.

Angered by the forces action, the people took to streets in Shopian town and burnt down the mini-secretariat that houses the district offices of several government departments including that of the district’s Deputy Commissioner.
A senior health official in the Shopian district said that at least 60 people were received in the government hospitals and three had eye. One patient, officials said, was critical.

“Twenty people were received in the district hospital alone and nine of them had serious injuries. We referred them to Srinagar. More patients are coming,” the official said wishing anonymity – as health officials have been banned from speaking to media.
In south Kashmir’s Anantnag, doctors said at least six people injured during the protest were received in the district hospitals. “Four had pellet injuries and are being treated. Some injured have also been brought from Shopian,” a doctor told The Indian Express.
A pro-azadi public rally was being held in Sadoora village of Anantnag and violent protests broke out in Fatehpora when the forces prevented people form marching towards the area. Protests also are going in Vessu village on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway. A youth had been killed during the protests on Saturday in the area.
