Police say a man is dead after a shooting in Abbotsford, B.C., Wednesday night. Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said officers responded to a report of shots fired on Crown Court, near Charlotte Avenue, at 9:11 p.m. PT.

The man was transported to hospital, where he later died of his injuries

Cameron Mackay lives near the scene of the shooting, and said he saw a large police presence on his street after hearing the gunshots from his house at 9:09 p.m.

“They drove over my front lawn with an armoured vehicle,” Mackay said.

“Apparently someone was shot at the end of the cul-de-sac … They took him away, they were working on him, but it doesn’t look too good.”

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is now looking into the incident as a homicide.
