Details on the number of robberies, and specifics dates and locations were not provided by police.
“These acts were vicious and cowardly,” police said in a release Tuesday night.
“In some cases, the accused parties used (handguns), duct tape, zip ties and a (Taser) to assault the victims, which included elderly people and children.”
Police said a suspect turned himself on Monday.
Rashid Ahmad is charged with robbery, use of an imitation firearm while committing an offence, and disguise with intent.
