The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the crime scene at Shaughnessy Square near Coquitlam Avenue and Flint Street in Port Coquitlam, B.C., after a fatal stabbing on Sunday.
Paramedics said they received a call about the incident just after 1 p.m. PT and sent two ambulances. Emergency crews transported one patient in critical condition to hospital, where he later died.
Coquitlam RCMP said in a release they responded to calls for an altercation outside of a local pub and, “found a man suffering from serious, life threatening injuries, allegedly sustained from a fight, according to witnesses.”
“There is no evidence to indicate the public is at risk as a result of this incident,” said the release, adding that the victim has not yet been identified.
Police also have not said if they have made any arrests in the case.
