Const. Mark Fischer told CBC News the man was operating a “boom-lift-type vehicle” at a new housing development when his vehicle ‘came into contact’ with one of the homes, crushing him.
Peel paramedics superintendent Jay Szymanski told CBC News the victim suffered “traumatic” injuries. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the Ministry of Labour has been notified and will be investigating. The coroner, the major collisions bureau and 21 Division are also probing the case.
The incident is not believed to be suspicious and alcohol was not a factor, police say.
