POLICE have charged and remanded a man who allegedly hit a cyclist and left him to die in West Footscray yesterday afternoon, while driving unlicensed. The driver, dressed as a tradesman, allegedly struck the rider from behind with his white Holden Rodeo utility as he travelled east on Barkly St about 3.15pm yesterday.

The ute then smashed into a parked car, pushing it about 85m down the road.

The driver then allegedly ran off in a northerly direction along Argyle St.

The 54-year-old cyclist died at the scene.
